“I’m excited for the opportunity to serve the people of the Town of Onondaga
It’s time to care about the future of our families, our neighbors, and our community.”
-Martin Brown

Martin Brown for Town Board Town of Onondaga

When he’s not working, Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and kids- relaxing in their backyard and gardening, taking family trips to places like Southwick Beach or Cape Cod, or teaching their daughters how to swim. Whether it was working as a lifeguard in his younger years or in his current role where he coordinates mental health care for youth and their families, Martin has always been dedicated to helping others. This commitment to service was instilled in him early on by his family and has remained a guiding value throughout his life.

Martin grew up on Onondaga Hill and graduated from West Genesee Schools. Recently, he and his family moved back to Onondaga Hill from the Strathmore neighborhood in Syracuse to provide their children with a similar sense of community. Martin is married and has two children who attend Rockwell Elementary in the Onondaga Central School District. His family has been part of the Town of Onondaga since 1986.

A proud alumnus of Niagara University (Go Purple Eagles!) and Canisius College, Martin now works full-time supporting children’s mental health programs throughout Onondaga County. In addition, he runs a small part-time private counseling practice and serves as an appointed member of the Onondaga County Youth Bureau Advisory Board.

Martin is passionate about serving his community and believes in building a strong, sustainable future for all families. He understands that every neighborhood has its own unique needs, and he’s committed to listening and working collaboratively to find thoughtful, practical solutions. With his background in mental health, small business ownership, and community involvement, Martin is eager to bring his experience to the Town Board—ensuring that decisions are made with care, compassion, and a focus on what’s best for the people who live here.
